Hygge were retained as project manager on this project. It was brought in on time and on budget. Carteret House is a state of the art marine residence in a magnificent position, with spectacular panoramic seaviews towards the French coastline and to the reef of Les Ecrehous. The building specification exceeds current market expectations. The interiors include extensive reception and living spaces, five family suites and a 2 bedroom guest apartment and six car garage.

The 2.8 acre grounds comprise parking, lawns, infinity pool, borders, and private foreshore. The house sits central to two National Trust protected promontories affording views of protected native woodland with a private winding pathway leading down to a rocky cove where private mooring is available. The total square footage of the house and it's accommodation is circa 15,000 square feet, and consists of the following;

  • Weather lobby leading to an entrance lobby with cloakroom and cloaks cupboard
  • Secretariat/Link - a large office with it's own kitchen, access to the I.T. room and linking the main house with the 6 car garage and guest wing
  • Study/snug
  • Entrance hall - A large classically proportioned room with panoramic windows onto balcony, fireplace and staircase to first floor
  • Family room, panoramic windows onto balcony, fireplace, stunning seaviews
  • Formal dining room
  • Wine Cave - a controlled environment for wine storage, a wet bar and butler's pantry
  • Kitchen - A substantial space with sea views and panoramic windows leading to the balcony. Staircase leading to lower ground floor
  • Kitchen pantry, cloakroom, utility, rear entrance lobby, staff cloakroom, and staircase to first floor level
